The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), in alignment with national approaches, tracks education outcomes for cohorts of students who attend 8th grade in a Texas public school including rates of high school graduation, higher education enrollment, as well as types of degrees earned from a Texas college or university. Outcomes are tracked for 11 years, including the last year of middle school, four years of high school, and six years of higher education. 2026 update: As part of our latest update, we have enhanced the 8th Grade Cohort workbooks with more detailed disaggregated data and have corrected the out-of-state enrollment figures for the FY 2014 cohort. This version of the 8th Grade Cohort workbooks in the link below should replace older versions.
