The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), in alignment with national approaches, tracks education outcomes for cohorts of students who attend 8th grade in a Texas public school including rates of high school graduation, higher education enrollment, as well as types of degrees earned from a Texas college or university. Outcomes are tracked for 11 years, including the last year of middle school, four years of high school, and six years of higher education. The data can also be found on the Texas Talent Trajectory dashboard:  The Texas Talent Trajectory (T3) – DataBridge.  THECB is grateful for the support of the Houston Endowment in providing funding for making the 8th grade cohorts available. In addition to the reports below, this information is also available on the The Texas Tribune website at Higher Ed Outcomes – Tracking Eighth-Graders’ Post-.Secondary Success.

2025 Update: As a part of our latest update, we enhanced the 8th Grade Cohort data to improve the accuracy of out-of-state enrollment figures. New versions of the FY 2012 and FY 2013 8th Grade Cohort workbooks replace the earlier versions, and the FY 2014 8th Grade Cohort workbook has been released. These workbooks should replace older versions because they use the most recent and comprehensive data THECB has acquired and should be used in place of earlier versions.
